Happy Holidays to All

The holidays are upon us and a time of year to gather with family and friends for food, fun, and drink.  It is also a time to help those less fortunate and to reach out to those who may be facing significant challenges this holiday season.
The search for the perfect tree
Thank you to all who have stayed with us over the past four years.  Every guest has been special and memorable. There have been so many people with such special stories and journeys.  I believe my life is better for all the wonderful people (and horses and pets) that have come through our door and our gate.

We Welcome All Through Our Door
May winter lights brighten your path and light your way this holiday season.  Here is hoping for peace in all our hearts, our nation, and our world.  Happy holidays from our family to yours.

Mary

Falling Into Fall

The first of the fall rains have begun in the South Willamette Valley, gently watering the parched soil and dry grass.  The "green fall" will be here soon, with lush grass abounding. Our neighboring wineries are in the final moments and details of harvest.  2016 will go down as a great growing year, with perfect temperatures and growing conditions, and a nice dry September to complete the harvest. Looking forward to seeing how those 2016 wines will taste.  For the moment,  we are savoring 2014 Pinot Noirs for this fall season.

Football is well underway, and fans with green and gold Duck attire and black and orange Beaver gear are out and about every weekend.  The arts are getting in full swing with fall performances of music and dance and art exhibits.

Farmers Markets are still in full swing, and pumpkin patches and festivals and mazes will be great sources of entertainment through October.

Our horse activities are moving closer to home now, having wrapped up some beautiful beach riding on the Oregon Coast between rain storms and wet gear and wet horses.  Fall is a great time for visiting the country and all the beauty and fun that Oregon has to offer....sports, arts, wine, and outdoor activities.....come visit us and see for yourself.

Sweet Oregon Summer

Summer has arrived in the South Willamette Valley, a beautiful time of year.

Flowers and summer flag welcome our guests
Summer arrived in splendor on the June 20 Solstice with a full moon for the first time since 1948.  The "honey moon" was a spectacular site over the farm.

Wineries are in full swing with delicious Oregon wine offerings, food carts, and live music.  Concerts with great music under the stars are a special experience with venues in Eugene, Ashland, and Bend to name only a few.

Farmers are harvesting hay, planting and maintaining other crops, and farmers' markets are rolling out more and more fresh produce as the summer progresses.

And, Eugene, OR known as "Track Town USA," is eagerly awaiting the Olympic Trials with top athletes and their families and friends and lots of visitors rolling into town in early July. Go USA, go Oregon. Welcome to our summer.

Spring in the Country

Spring is everywhere in rural Oregon, and the South Willamette Valley is alive with flowers, budding trees, green grass, singing birds, and all that the beautiful countryside has to offer.  Farmers are getting to work in the fields, Eugene's Saturday Market is open again, wineries in the area are gearing up for spring and summer activities, and locals folks are preparing for visitors, graduations, and weddings.

Now is a great time to make plans for a stay in the country, away from crowded motels and traffic jams, and just a short drive to Eugene or Corvallis and all the fun activities in those communities.
